Torn World Map Project - Continents & Oceans PBL Activity - Microsoft Resources
This engaging Continents & Oceans Project-Based Learning (PBL) challenge features torn world map projects! Students will create a world map using only glue and two sheets of paper. They will examine the map and carefully tear out the shape of each continent—drawing outlines or using scissors is not allowed!
This interactive exercise helps students remember the continents and oceans by focusing on details like shape, location, and scale. The goal is not to create a perfect replica but to enhance their understanding of the geography involved. Afterward, they will label the continents, oceans, and lines on a globe to complete their world maps.
A fill-in rubric is provided to make grading straightforward! The finished torn world maps serve as excellent examples of student work for classroom and hallway displays. Everything you need for this project is included!
