This Patriot Day lesson explains the tragic events on 9-11-01 while honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks. Begin with a “To Tell the Truth” warm-up introducing Patriot Day, then review each of the Five Themes: Location, Place, Region, Movement, Human-Environment Interactions. Next, a “GSI: Geography Scene Investigation” challenges students to examine the “5 Themes of Geography” to understand how the terrorist attacks impacted the United States.
