This lesson explores and compares various types of government worldwide. The activities are engaging for students, and the guided 6-E format is easy for you to implement! Fill-in notes accompany the lesson.

Begin with a fun “4 Pics, 1 Word” warm-up and a “Classify” activity that reviews the differences between limited and unlimited political systems. Students will then create a graphic organizer to explain and compare the traits of different types of governments.

Next, three practice activities and two games will challenge students to apply the new concepts: Vocab Review, Picto-Words, Creative Writing, Quiz Show, and Speed Game.

Finally, an exit ticket activity asks students to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various government systems. The materials are included in both printed and interactive digital versions. This lesson is designed for traditional in-class learning and digital 1:1 classrooms. Everything you need is provided!
