The 5 Themes of Geography Research Project - City Mosaic PBL - Google Digital Resources

This Project-Based Learning (PBL) activity challenges students to research a city and showcase its five Themes of Geography by creating a mosaic. Students will investigate the Location, Place, Region, Movement, and Human-Environment Interactions of the selected city. Following their research, they will design colorful mosaics that include images and descriptions explaining the city's geography. This activity can be adapted to any location.

A rubric is provided to set clear expectations for students and simplify the grading process. Creating mosaics is a fun way to assess student learning while allowing them to express their creativity. The pack includes both printed and interactive digital versions of the directions, research guides, mosaic templates, rubrics, and project examples. It is suitable for traditional in-class learning as well as digital 1:1 classrooms, ensuring that everything needed for the project is included!
