PEGS Factors Current Events Activity - Political Econ Geo Social - Google Digital Resources

Encourage students to engage with current events and explore the PEGS (Political, Economic, Geographic, Social) factors present in the news. Students will watch or read news stories, identify examples that represent each PEGS factor, summarize the main ideas, and justify their selections. This activity includes links to websites and a PEGS reference chart for interactive notebooks. It can be assigned regularly throughout the year, helping students stay informed and connect real-world events to what they learn in the classroom.

Social Studies curricula often change, sometimes drastically, from year to year. However, the PEGS factors serve as common themes that connect all Social Studies classes.
