World War 1 Propaganda Lesson & WWI Activities - Google Digital Resources
This World War I lesson explores how propaganda was used to gain support for the war among Americans on the home front. The engaging activities are designed for students and follow an easy-to-use, guided 6-E format.
Start with a fun warm-up activity called “Listen Up - Taglines.” Then, dive into “A History Dilemma,” where students examine President Wilson’s isolationist stance during World War I. Next, introduce important vocabulary and key historical events from that time period, supported by fill-in notes.
Students will participate in an investigation activity that challenges them to analyze eight different World War I propaganda posters. For added engagement, there is a printable “walk-around” poster version that gets your class up and moving.
Finally, an exit ticket quiz checks for understanding. Printable and interactive digital versions of all materials are included, making them suitable for traditional in-class learning or digital 1:1 classrooms. Everything you need for a comprehensive lesson is provided!
