World Map Skills Lesson, Continent & Ocean Activities - Google Digital Resources
This World Map Skills Lesson focuses on examining the world map and exploring the locations of continents, oceans, and lines on a globe. The activities are engaging for students, and the guided 5-E format is easy for teachers to use!
Begin with a “Where on Earth?” warm-up activity to activate prior knowledge. Then, explore key vocabulary related to the world map. Accompanying fill-in notes are provided for the lesson. Following that, students will label a map and identify the different hemispheres.
A "Show What You Know" activity challenges students to practice mapping by identifying continents and oceans using hemispheres and cardinal directions. Finally, an exit ticket quiz will assess the student's learning.
